The Houston Ballet is going to have a new home and the American Stone Company is proudly participating in stone installation.
The new home for the ballet is located in downtown Houston on the block surrounded by Smith, Louisiana, Congress, and Preston Sts.
ASC is currently consumed with the installation of exterior cladding in "Absolute Black" granite and interior limestone flooring in "Gascoigne Beige", as well as tiling bathrooms and showers.
Gensler Architects is in charge of building design, with Marshall Strambala as lead architect.
Architects Terry Newell and Kent Liu, along with their team from Gensler Architects, are directing the construction and final touches on this breathtaking masterpiece.
Dan Dille, ASC's superintendent to the job, is actively in charge of our installation crews and has reiterated to those at the site during these extreme temperatures, "We are particularly concerned with the hydration of our people working at the site, due to the extremely high temperatures we have been experiencing here in Houston over the past 2 weeks. Temperatures have been reaching 105 degrees almost every day". The use of Boom Lifts and Swing Stage scaffolding for the application of the exterior cladding makes the heat almost double in intensity, but efforts are being made to keep workers healthy and hydrated. Robert Chambers, Project Manager, Alessandro Ghiotto, the on-site project manager, along with Dan Dille, the Superintendent have been diligent in their duties of coordinating the delivery and installation of the projects materials, maintaining quality control, and communicating through all necessary channels, their hardwork is evident. The project is running on schedule, though there will be little relaxing until the project is done right. David Morris, Vice President, W. S. Bellows Construction Corp is the Project Manager. He is keeping us all on our toes and on a tight schedule. Bellows Construction Company has been an active player in constructing many of the "Arts" buildings in Houston.
